Peter Bourque | Tabor Academy QB | Virginia Tech Commit | Class of 2027

September 11, 2026
Tabor Academy QB Peter Bourque topped the 2026 Elite 11 in Pro Day and Accuracy, went 17-1 over two seasons, and committed to Virginia Tech in the 2027 class.

At the 2026 Elite 11 — one of the most competitive quarterback showcases in the country — only 20 prospects earn an invitation. Peter Bourque not only made the cut, he dominated it, becoming one of the rare quarterbacks to post the highest score in both the Pro Day event and the Accuracy Challenge in the same year.

The Tabor Academy signal-caller hails from the Boston area, where the Bourque name carries weight in sports circles — Hockey Hall of Famer Raymond Bourque spent two decades as a cornerstone of the Bruins. Peter is no relation, and football, not hockey, is his game. He did spend several years playing lacrosse before stepping away last year to commit fully to football, an experience he credits with sharpening his ability to read different situations and connect with a range of teammates.

That versatility has translated directly to his leadership on the field. Named team captain as a junior, Bourque has been the engine behind a Tabor Academy program that has gone 17-1 over the past two seasons. He operates behind one of the stronger supporting casts in Massachusetts, a state that has produced a notable cluster of Division I prospects in the 2027 class — and Bourque sits at the top of that group, ranked among the top 75 players nationally regardless of position.

His recruitment came down to relationships. Bourque has verbally committed to Virginia Tech and head coach James Franklin, who is working to restore the Hokies to national relevance. A proven winner with elite arm talent and demonstrated leadership, Bourque figures to be a foundational piece in that rebuild.
