Elijah Haven: Louisiana's Record-Breaking QB Headed to Alabama

Louisiana high school football has a long tradition of producing elite quarterbacks, and Elijah Haven is the latest name to add to that list. The Dunham School signal-caller set a Louisiana state record with 62 touchdown passes in a single season, tacked on 11 rushing scores, and guided his team to a 13-1 record and a state championship — all while earning Louisiana State Player of the Year honors.

The 6-foot-5 quarterback had already turned heads as a sophomore, when he was named the MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year in 2024. Haven grew up watching Cam Newton, Matt Ryan, and Drew Brees, and that early immersion in the game shaped both his passion and his approach. He was good enough on the basketball court to earn District MVP honors as a sophomore and help Dunham reach back-to-back state semifinals, but football was always the destination.

His five-star status has opened doors beyond the field as well. Haven is among a small group of high school players sponsored by Nike, and he became the first high school athlete to sign a partnership with EA Sports — a distinction he takes seriously as a fan of the college football gaming franchise. He is committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide, where he will look to carry his record-setting production into one of college football's most storied programs.
