Pro Football Hall of Famer Ken Houston reflects on his path from Lufkin Dunbar High School in Texas to NFL greatness.

Ken Houston ranks among the most accomplished defensive backs in NFL history. Growing up in Lufkin, Texas, Houston developed his passion for football despite receiving just one scholarship offer. The Houston Oilers selected him in the ninth round of the 1967 NFL Draft.

Houston's 14-season professional career included 12 Pro Bowl selections and induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1986. After retiring, he transitioned into coaching at various levels. Houston credits his success to relentless work ethic, teamwork, and coaches who emphasized protecting teammates. His recent induction into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame further honors his legacy.
