Richard Gouraige anchored the offensive line at Cambridge Christian School in Tampa, earning Under Armour All-American honors. At 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds, he had the frame and footwork that college programs covet.

Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, and Florida all offered scholarships. Gouraige sought a program with strong academics and a family atmosphere, values instilled at his small Christian school. He ultimately chose Florida.
