Larry Doby integrated the American League as the second Black player in MLB history in 1947, just months after Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier.

While Jackie Robinson rightfully receives recognition for breaking baseball's color barrier, Larry Doby's contribution to the sport deserves equal attention. In 1947, just months after Robinson joined the Dodgers, Doby became the first Black player in the American League when he signed with the Cleveland Indians.
