Carsyn Comer | 6'2" Middle Blocker | Westfield HS | Louisville Commit

October 9, 2026
Westfield HS senior Carsyn Comer led the Shamrocks to historic postseason runs and is headed to Louisville as one of Indiana's top volleyball recruits.

Two championship banners in a single season told a story that Westfield High School volleyball hadn't been able to tell in over a decade. Behind the arm—and the voice—of senior middle hitter Carsyn Comer, the Shamrocks captured their first sectional title in ten years and their first regional championship in 15 before falling to the eventual state champions.

At 6-foot-2, Comer is what her coach Shawn Keeve calls a "terminal point scorer"—a player who goes full speed on every ball and raises the competitive standard for everyone around her. "She goes 100 mph in everything," Keeve said. "Green light all the way. She has high expectations, and that creates a healthy fear that makes others better."

That competitive drive traces directly back to her parents, both college athletes who met at the University of Toledo—her father playing football, her mother basketball. Comer first channeled that intensity as a softball pitcher before finding her calling as a volleyball hitter. Moving up to a more competitive club program accelerated her development and confirmed what she already believed: she could keep getting better.

As a captain in Keeve's second season leading the program, Comer has taken ownership of building the culture from within. "Especially with Sean being a newer coach, I want to build a culture and have a standard," she said. "Being a leader and captain helps me do that."

Next fall, Comer takes her game to the Atlantic Coast Conference, having committed to the University of Louisville. Her goals don't stop there—a national title in college and a professional career afterward are both firmly on her radar.
