Journey to Greatness: Brandon Roy

Before becoming an All-American at the University of Washington and a three-time NBA All-Star with the Portland Trail Blazers, Roy made a name for himself at Garfield High School. Reflecting on his basketball journey, Roy recalls his fondest memories of playing high school basketball, particularly his first varsity game where he had the opportunity to play alongside his brother. The support from his family, including his mom, dad, and even his little sister, played a significant role in encouraging him to pursue basketball despite its ups and downs. Even though his brother would often beat him in their games, Roy learned the valuable lesson of not being afraid to lose.
