Al Blades Jr., a rising defensive back at St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, is carrying on his family's football legacy. The Blades family has a storied history with the Miami Hurricanes, with Al's father and uncles all having successful football careers. Although Al's father tragically passed away when he was just a toddler, his uncles have played a significant role in keeping his father's memory alive. Al's passion for football has been evident from a young age, and he has been actively playing the sport ever since. After completing his sophomore season, Al made the decision to transfer to St. Thomas Aquinas, where he found a supportive and nurturing program that has contributed to his growth as both a player and an individual. Known for his outgoing personality, deep love for the game, and unwavering dedication to his craft, Al has emerged as a standout player. He has earned recognition as one of the top 100 players in the 2018 class and has even been invited to participate in the prestigious Under Armour All-American game.
