Nolan Smith developed into an elite pass rusher at Georgia after starring in high school. Clemson's Bryan Bresee and Alabama defensive backs Eli Ricks and DeMarcco Hellams also project as draft selections.
These defenders followed different paths through college football's top programs, but all traced their development back to high school foundations. Elite defensive talent often emerges from programs that emphasize technique early.
