Rickea Jackson - DEPSA Forward - Highlights/Interview
January 25, 2019
Rickea Jackson powered Detroit Edison to consecutive state championships while earning McDonald's All-American honors and committing to Mississippi State.
Detroit Edison Public School Academy is still a young program. Rickea Jackson made it a dominant one. The forward led the school to back-to-back state championships, averaging 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game along the way.
Those numbers earned Jackson Michigan's Gatorade Player of the Year award and a spot on the McDonald's All-American roster. She initially had no interest in basketball, dismissing it as a sport she didn't want to play. Now she's headed to Mississippi State as one of the top recruits in her class.
