Ray Guy - NFL Legend
July 21, 2018
Hall of Famer Ray Guy revolutionized the punter position during his legendary career with the Oakland Raiders.
Ray Guy made history as the first punter selected in the first round of the NFL Draft when the Oakland Raiders chose him in 1973. His booming kicks and consistent performance changed how teams valued the punting position.
After waiting 28 years, Guy was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014 as the first primary punter to receive that honor. Throughout his career, Guy's professionalism and dedication earned him the respect of teammates and coaches who advocated for his eventual enshrinement in Canton.
