October 19, 2018
Charles Woodson won the 1997 Heisman Trophy, the same year Randy Moss finished fourth.
Randy Moss finished fourth in the 1997 Heisman Trophy voting as a sophomore at Marshall. Charles Woodson of Michigan took home the award, becoming only the second primarily defensive player to win the Heisman.
Despite not winning the award, Moss went on to become one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history. The 1997 voting showcased a talented class that included future Hall of Famers at multiple positions.
