July 21, 2018
Jaylen Hoard grew up in France, but he's now a star in the United States. He plays for Wesleyan Christian in North Carolina, and he's committed to Wake Forest for 2018.
In this episode of "Sports Stars of Tomorrow," presented by Toyota, we meet Jaylen Hoard, a standout basketball player from Wesleyan Christian near Greensboro, North Carolina. Despite spending most of his life in France, Jaylen's passion for American basketball led him to the United States two years ago. Standing at an impressive six foot eight, Jaylen is rated as one of the top 30 prospects in the 2018 class, excelling both in the post and on the perimeter, making him a versatile player on the court.
Living in North Carolina has allowed Jaylen to witness firsthand the competitiveness of ACC basketball. It was the recruiting efforts of Wake Forest coach Danny Manning that convinced him to sign with the Demon Deacons. Jaylen is excited to continue his basketball journey on Tobacco Road, as the great bond between him and Coach Manning, combined with Wake Forest's proximity to his school, makes it an ideal fit. He praises Coach Manning for his personalized coaching style and is eager to compete.
