Let's Go Places on the Recruiting Trail: Cam Akers, Clinton RB

July 21, 2018
Cam Akers won U.S. Army National Player of the Year after leading Clinton High School to a Mississippi state championship.

Cam Akers scored 65 touchdowns and produced over 5,000 yards of offense during his senior season at Clinton High School in Mississippi. He played quarterback for the Arrows while being recruited as one of the nation's top running backs.

His experience running an offense gives him an edge reading defenses. Akers enrolled at Florida State, arriving after Dalvin Cook's departure created carries to compete for immediately.
