Larry Allen - Legend of the Game
July 21, 2018
Pro Football Hall of Famer Larry Allen took an unconventional path from Division II Sonoma State to becoming one of the greatest offensive linemen ever.
Larry Allen's journey to the Pro Football Hall of Fame defied conventional wisdom about the path to NFL success. After attending multiple high schools and playing at Division II Sonoma State, Allen's exceptional athleticism was revealed during a 40-yard dash that caught NFL scouts' attention.
Selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 1994 draft, Allen quickly proved his worth. A memorable Monday Night Football play saw him chase down a speedy linebacker after an interception, showcasing unusual speed for his size. Over 12 seasons with Dallas, Allen earned 11 Pro Bowl selections, won a Super Bowl, and was named to both the 1990s and 2000s NFL All-Decade teams before his 2013 Hall of Fame induction.
