July 21, 2018
Tennessee commit Kahlil McKenzie developed his skills at Clayton Valley Charter after his father became Raiders general manager.
Kahlil McKenzie brought a unique perspective to high school football as the son of Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie. After relocating from Wisconsin to California, McKenzie transferred to Clayton Valley Charter for his senior year.
Though state transfer rules prevented him from playing immediately, the training time sharpened his skills. McKenzie's decision to commit to Tennessee continued a family tradition, following the path of his father and uncle to the Volunteers program.
