Joshua Dobbs posted 3,100 passing yards and 29 touchdowns during his junior season at his Georgia high school. The 6-foot-3 quarterback combined a quick release, solid footwork, and a strong arm that attracted interest from every major conference.

Dobbs chose Arizona State, believing that coach Todd Graham's wide-open offensive system fit his skill set perfectly. The Sun Devils offered him the chance to maximize his abilities in a scheme designed to let quarterbacks make plays.
