USC WR Makai Lemon and Vanderbilt TE Eli Stowers NFL Draft Profiles
Versatility and reinvention are often the keys to a long football career, a reality perfectly illustrated by two standout prospects preparing for the NFL Draft. In the Los Angeles area, Los Alamitos High School produced a dynamic two-way player who would eventually become one of the top pass-catchers in the nation. Operating as a receiver, defensive back, and special teams weapon, this ultra-competitive athlete showcased rare physical gifts before focusing on the receiver position at USC. Now, Makai Lemon is projected to be one of the first wideouts selected in the first round.
Meanwhile, the path to the professional ranks required a major position change for a former Texas high school standout. Originally a dual-threat quarterback at Denton Guyer High School, Eli Stowers began his collegiate journey under center at Texas A&M. Recognizing the need to adapt, he transitioned to tight end during a stint at New Mexico State before finishing his final two seasons at Vanderbilt. The move paid massive dividends, culminating in Stowers winning the 2025 John Mackey Award as the best tight end in college football. Both athletes now stand on the precipice of the NFL, proving that elite talent can flourish through different developmental paths.
