Sports Stars of Tomorrow - Toyota Top 5 NBA Rookies

July 21, 2018
Anthony Davis rose from Perspectives Charter School in Chicago to become the clear frontrunner for NBA Rookie of the Year after leading Kentucky to a national title.

Anthony Davis stood 6-foot-8 with guard-like agility during his junior year at Perspectives Charter School in Chicago. That combination of size and movement made him nearly impossible to stop, and he quickly became a top prospect nationally.

At Kentucky, Davis earned National Player of the Year honors and led the Wildcats to a national championship. His shot-blocking ability was unmatched at the college level. He won Olympic gold with Team USA, then went first overall to the New Orleans Hornets, entering the league as the heavy favorite for Rookie of the Year.
