Question of the Day: Scottie Pippen in College
January 7, 2019
NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen played college basketball at Central Arkansas, starting as a walk-on before becoming an All-American.
Scottie Pippen started college as a walk-on equipment manager at Central Arkansas. By the time he finished, he was an All-American. That unlikely path to the NBA makes his career even more remarkable.
Now his son, Scottie Pippen Jr., plays at Sierra Canyon in California. The younger Pippen has his own NBA aspirations, building his game while carrying one of basketball's most recognizable names. The journey from Central Arkansas walk-on to six-time champion proves that starting points don't determine destinations.
