High school football means something different in Stockton, California. For many residents, it represents an escape. Justin Davis became the latest player to use the sport as a pathway out.

At 6'1" and 195 pounds, Davis rushed for 1,800 yards and 23 touchdowns at Lincoln High School. He committed to USC, following the trail blazed by Stockton legends Charles White and Marcus Allen. His stamina let him carry the ball 30-plus times a game without fading.
