Derrick Henry - Sports Stars of Tomorrow - Toyota Top 5
July 21, 2018
Derrick Henry broke Kenneth Hall's 59-year-old national rushing record by gaining 4,000 yards in his senior season at Yulee High School in Florida.
Kenneth Hall set the national high school rushing record in the 1950s at Sugar Land High in Texas. It stood for 59 years. Then Derrick Henry came along.
The Yulee, Florida, running back gained 4,000 yards in his senior season alone, shattering Hall's career mark. At 6'3" and 240 pounds, Henry combined size and determination that powered the Hornets deep into the Florida 4A state playoffs. Despite the historic achievement, he remained grounded, deflecting credit to teammates and coaches.
