Aaliyah Chavez, a standout basketball player from Lubbock Monterey High School, has capped her high school career with a Texas Class 5A Division II championship, the school's first in 44 years. Scoring 19 points in her final game, Chavez finished with nearly 4800 points. Known for her signature 'boom' celebration during games, Chavez is not only a talented player but also a passionate individual who didn't watch much basketball growing up. Instead, she focused on practicing. She's been recruited by top schools like Oklahoma, Texas, South Carolina, and Texas Tech.
