Chol Marial's basketball journey from South Sudan brought him to AZ Compass Prep, where the 7-foot-2 center is chasing his NBA dreams.
At 7-foot-2, Chol Marial towers over most opponents before the game even tips off. The South Sudanese native has crisscrossed the country in pursuit of basketball excellence, playing at Cheshire Academy in Connecticut, IMG Academy in Florida, and now AZ Compass Prep in Arizona.
A Basketball Without Borders event in South Africa changed everything for Marial. Meeting NBA players like Chris Paul and Dikembe Mutombo transformed his casual interest into a consuming passion. Now thousands of miles from family, he trains with elite coaches while keeping his eyes fixed on the NBA.
